This project was implemented at the Lanzhou New District Third Town Wastewater Treatment Plant, focusing on upgrading the facility’s sludge transportation system to ensure reliable, continuous, and efficient handling of municipal sludge. The plant required equipment that could operate 24 hours a day and withstand high moisture, corrosion, and material stickiness.
Previously, conventional conveyors frequently encountered issues such as sludge sticking, wear, and corrosion, which led to frequent maintenance and system downtime.
To address these challenges, YIDU SINOHI Machinery Co., Ltd. designed and supplied four customized screw conveyors tailored for sludge characteristics:
- 2× WLS300×2 Twin-Shaft Screw Conveyors (10 m each)
- 1× WLS420 Shaftless Screw Conveyor (13 m)
- 1× WLS420 Shaftless Screw Conveyor (13 m, 25° inclination)
Each unit was built with 16Mn blades (25–30 mm thick), 304 stainless-steel liners, and variable frequency drives, ensuring superior durability and energy efficiency. The enclosed structure provided full protection against leakage and corrosion, while the automated control system supported continuous 24-hour operation.
Following installation and commissioning, the system achieved stable, efficient, and low-maintenance sludge transportation, enhancing the wastewater plant’s reliability and ensuring smooth environmental compliance operations.
