Working Principle Of Screw Conveyor

When the screw shaft rotates, due to the gravity of the material and the friction between the material and the wall of the trough, the material can only move forward along the bottom of the conveyor trough under the push of the blades, just like a nut that cannot rotate moves in translation along the rotating screw. The main driving force of the material comes from the force of the spiral blades to push the material upward and forward along the tangential direction of the blades when the spiral blades rotate axially.
In order to put the screw shaft in a more favorable tension state, the drive device and the discharge port are generally placed at the same end of the conveyor, and the feed port is placed as close to the tail as possible at the other end. The rotating spiral blades push the material to convey it, and the force that prevents the material from rotating with the screw conveyor blades is the material’s own weight and the friction resistance of the screw conveyor casing to the material. The blade surface type has solid surface type, belt surface type, blade surface type and other types according to the different conveying materials. The screw shaft of the screw conveyor has a thrust bearing at the end of the material movement direction to give the screw an axial reaction force with the material. When the machine is long, an intermediate hanging bearing should be added.
