This project was implemented at Jiangyin Xincheng Special Steel Co., Ltd., a leading special steel manufacturer in eastern China. The customer sought to upgrade their existing scrap steel feeding line to achieve a continuous conveying capacity of 100 tons per hour.
Before the upgrade, the plant faced frequent stoppages caused by mixed scrap composition, equipment overload, and material spillage, resulting in high maintenance and labor costs.
To address these issues, YIDU SINOHI Machinery Co., Ltd. designed a customized heavy-duty chain plate conveyor system integrated with a weighing and tipping hopper for accurate material feeding. A rotating vibrating chute was also included to ensure stable scrap distribution into the melting furnace.
The system’s robust design-with reinforced structural frames, high-strength forged chains, and NM wear-resistant liners-allows it to handle heavy and irregular scrap materials efficiently. The modular layout simplifies maintenance and ensures long-term reliability in high-load environments.
After commissioning, the new line successfully achieved 100 tons per hour continuous operation, reduced downtime by 40%, and improved production efficiency and safety at the furnace front.
